HOW Does the NSBL℠ Work?

Only 500 "Charter" Sports Bars have been invited to launch the NSBL℠ based on their size, location, popularity, etc. If you received a letter from the NSBL℠ you’re one of them. All you need to do now is to submit the acceptance Form A found on this site. If you didn’t receive a letter of invitation, there's an alternate Form B.

Once the program gets underway later this year, the only thing League members need to do is designate a bar team to compete in each event. The team will hopefully lead the participating Sports Bar to local, regional and national titles and receive great prizes.

The field of play is Sports Knowledge, Sports IQ and an understanding of sports beyond just facts, dates and stats. The National Title involves a series of events on 13 nights over 13 weeks. Each team competes electronically via a single laptop and one dedicated TV screen, Live and in Real Time.

Standings appear instantaneously on the TV screen, as does a Leader Board and a "crawl" naming the Sports Bars in the lead in the various Divisions. Each night a local and regional winner is announced on the way to the final Championship.

HOW is the NSBL℠ Organized ?

The NSBL℠ has 10 Divisions encompassing the total US:

NSBL Charter 500

Although there will be only 500 Sports Bars participating in the NSBL℠ in Year 1 they will be distributed across the country in proportion to population density. There will be only a small number of NSBL℠ sports bars in each town, state and region. This allows for participating sports bars to enjoy a high level of territorial exclusivity and affords excellent odds for successfully competing and winning prizes both locally and nationally. Future years will see an increase in the number of NSBL℠ sports bar members but totals will be controlled to continue to afford a unique advantage to members and their fans in terms of competitive odds.
